For over 30 years, Luther Park Community has provided quality services for older Iowans to fulfill their physical, spiritual, social and psychological needs on a beautiful campus in Des Moines.  Our expertise is in providing programs and services for people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, including the Adult Day Center, two affordable independent living apartments, assisted living and our 120-bed Trinity Center at Luther Park.

Luther Park Community is here when you and your loved ones need us most. We hope that you will be here for us to build on this strong tradition of caring.

Your financial support will enhance resident care, support staff development and allow Luther Park Community to maintain up to date facilities.  Contributions to Luther Park Community are tax deductible and make a lasting difference in the lives of those who require and deserve the finest care.

Opportunities to Give

Tribute Gifts are a thoughtful way to honor or memorialize a loved one while supporting Luther Park Community.  Memorial gifts are made in remembrance of someone who has passed away.  Other tribute gifts are given in honor of a person or as an expression of gratitude.

Special or Restricted Gifts – At Luther Park Community, we always seek ways to better serve our residents, improve or maintain their mental and physical quality of life, and reduce strain on their families and loved ones.  Donors may wish to restrict their gift for a special purpose, such as resident care, employee education, capital improvements or direct their support to one of our facilities such as The Trinity Center or The Gardens.

Unrestricted Gifts have no donor designation and will be put toward the area of greatest need.

Matching Gifts – Many companies and organizations offer a matching gift program, which can double the size of your donation. Check with your employer for details.

Workplace Giving – Luther Park Community may be eligible for donations made through annual employee payroll deduction campaigns.  Ask your company coordinator to inquire about designating a gift.

A Planned Gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning. While some planned gifts provide a life-long income to the donor, others use estate and tax planning techniques to support a charity in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on the donor’s estate.  A donor may use cash, appreciated securities/stock, real estate, partnership interests, personal property, life insurance or a retirement plan to support Luther Park Community.  The benefits of funding a planned gift can make this type of charitable giving very attractive to both donor and charity.

Bequests are the most common type of planned gifts.  We recommend working with your attorney or estate planner to create the wording in your will that reflects your interests and goals. Creating a bequest is a wonderful way to substantially support the needs of future Luther Park Community residents and their families, while also reducing a tax burden.

In-Kind Gifts – Luther Park Community accepts non-cash gifts including items that offset the costs for residents or the organization.

Thank you for remembering Luther Park Community in your charitable giving.  For more information on any of the opportunities described here, contact Carol Sipfle, Director of Development at 515-261-6399 or csipfle@lutherparkcommunity.org.
